Privacy Policy

1. What this covers

This policy explains what personal data Mawahibna collects when you use our platform, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to brands, talent, and visitors to mawahibna.com.

2. Information we collect

Account information you provide directly: full name, email, phone number, password (stored as a one-way hash, never in plain text), company name, country, and, for talent accounts, skills, bio, day rate, portfolio links, and social handles. Content you create: briefs, applications, messages between brands and talent, ratings and reviews. Payment information: we never see or store your card details directly - payments are processed entirely by Stripe, our PCI-compliant payment processor. Usage information: pages visited and basic technical data (browser, device type) collected automatically for security and reliability.

3. How we use your information

To operate the marketplace: creating your account, matching briefs with talent, processing bookings and escrow payments, and enabling messaging between parties to a deal. To communicate with you: transactional emails (welcome messages, application updates, hire notifications, payment confirmations, password resets) and, if you opt in, occasional product updates. To improve and secure the platform: fraud prevention, debugging, and understanding how features are used in aggregate. Where our AI features are used (brief writing, talent matching, budget suggestions), relevant profile and brief text is sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) solely to generate that specific output - it is not used to train their models under our agreement with them.

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the service providers that make the platform function, each bound by their own data protection obligations: Airtable (our database, where your account and platform data is stored), Stripe (payment processing and escrow), Resend (transactional email delivery), Anthropic (AI-generated text features, as described above), and Vercel (application hosting). We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of Mawahibna or our users, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets - in which case we would notify affected users.

5. Talent-brand visibility

When you apply to a brief or are hired, the other party can see relevant profile information (name, skills, bio, rate, portfolio for talent; company name and brief details for brands) needed to complete the booking. Messages sent within a deal are visible only to the brand and talent on that specific deal - never to other users.

6. Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, we retain transaction records (deals, payments, invoices) as required for tax, accounting, and legal purposes, and may retain limited data to prevent fraud or enforce our Non-Circumvention Agreement, even after account closure.

7. Your rights

You can review and update most of your information directly in Account Settings at any time. You can request a copy of your data, request corrections, or request deletion of your account by emailing privacy@mawahibna.com - we will respond within 30 days. Deletion requests are subject to the retention obligations described above (we cannot delete records needed for completed financial transactions).

8. Cookies

We use a single essential cookie to keep you signed in (a secure, httpOnly session cookie) and, if you install the Mawahibna app to your home screen, a service worker for offline page caching. We do not currently use third-party advertising or analytics cookies.

9. International transfers

Mawahibna operates across the GCC and stores data with providers that may process it outside your home country. Where this happens, we rely on our providers' own compliance frameworks (including standard contractual clauses where applicable) to protect your data in transit and at rest.

10. Children

Mawahibna is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the platform evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above, and where changes are significant we will make reasonable efforts to notify active users directly.
