Booking in Dubai
- Shooting in public places in Dubai usually needs a filming permit from the Dubai Film and TV Commission. Ask whether your crew handles it or you do, and build the lead time into your dates.
- Drone shots need approval from the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, so mention them in your brief from the start.
- The UAE working week runs Monday to Friday. Many productions shoot on Saturdays too, so say if weekend days are possible.
- Most commercial work here is bilingual. Say whether you need Arabic, English or both on camera and in the edit.
- VAT in the UAE is 5% and is added to the booking total.
What to ask before you book
- Do you bring your own kit and products?
- Can you also do hair?
- Have you worked on camera before?
- Is travel to the location included?
